Xi'an Famous Foods 西安名吃 Court Square LIC: Bold, Authentic Flavors Await

Stopped by Xi’an Famous Foods at Court Square (LIC) and it absolutely hit the spot. I ordered the spicy and sour lamb dumplings and the spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles in soup which both were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. I went with the normal spice level, which had a great kick without overwhelming the flavors or burning my tastebuds. To cool things down, I paired it with a cold chrysanthemum tea, which was refreshing and balanced out the heat perfectly. This location does have limited seating, especially since the second floor is always closed off, so it’s best to come at off-peak times or be prepared for takeout. Service is solid, and they have a self-service kiosk, which makes ordering quick and easy. If you’re in LIC and craving bold, spicy, and comforting food, Xi’an Famous Foods is a must-visit.

Xian Famous Foods is delicious and authentic Chinese food. This is not General Tso’s chicken or anything like that. They know what they’re good at and they stick to it. It’s also spicy so be prepared. They do have less spicy options but they want to keep it authentic for the diners. We got the Lamb burger, the Lamb noodles, and the Lamb dumplings. Everything was delicious! We got everything for around 30 and it came out so quickly. At first I was wondering if it would be Lamb overkill but not at all! Everything was so delicious and different. We are definitely going to go back and recommend it if you haven’t tried it.

SO GOOD. Cafeteria style seating, which I think is so efficient. No waiter to hover over. You order and wait for your order to be ready and take to your seat. You eat. Clean up and leave. Efficient and no hassle. Price is amazing, but it's not a major portion, but the flavor is amazing with the chili oil and Mala spice. The tangy numbness of the spice works so well in the cucumber, though I think the cucumber bite size is too large. But so satisfyingly crunchy and refreshing. The noodles were so good and chewy. The thick hand pulled noodles were addictive and mouth watering in the meat and oil sause. I think you should try one with and one without soup. Both equally yummy. The buger was aromatic and delicious as well. The cumin lamb was not gamey. It was chewy flavorful and addictive as well. I dipped the bun in the sauce of the noodle, and I was in heaven. Even after we finished everything, we kept the sauce to bring home and add more noodles ourselves. Unfortunately, all the dumplings were sold out and beef burgers. We are definitely coming back for them.

The experience was wonderful. Ordering of food, service and sitting arrangement was more than I could ask for. Clean and spacious. The burgers were way better the dumplings. I do not recommend dumplings though.

This was the first time I’ve tried this place, and I can just say Wow. The food was SO delicious and flavorful! I got the Spicy Cumin lamb and hand ripped noodles and Spicy sour pork and cabbage dumplings. I also tasted my friends cucumber salad and I would order that as well next time. The portions were large and I had plenty of leftovers for my next meal, and the containers were perfect to take on the go. I’ll definately be coming back for more!

Really like the casual atmosphere where you can just grab your food and sit, enjoy, clean up and leave. Their vegetarian dumplings were so good. That sauce is highly addictive. All vegetarian options I had this day were delicious. The location has a friendly staff and it was a nice place to stop by after hanging out at PS 1.

This was a pickup ordering and my first time trying XI'AN Famous, and it was very easy to pick up my food by showing my online order at the counter.
